Life

Life

A poem I wrote long ago.

Isn’t it funny, how
Inspiration wells, how
Thoughts come and then go, how
Desires rise, fall, oh how.

Isn’t it funny, when
We can sink so low, when
Depression traps us, when
We fall into depths, oh when.

Isn’t it funny, what
Causes this sadness, what
Leads to happiness, what
Changes inside us, oh what.

Isn’t it funny, how
Life leads us to this, when
All now falls apart, what
Will you choose to do, now go!

What’s going on in my head? I don’t know why
Inside this mind of lunacy
I cannot find this heresy
Building up like waves upon this
Shore of mediocrity and bliss.
I seek to find this devilish lie
Before it consumes me, robs me blind.
We all claim this fallacy,
That we can ever be truly, FREE.

A season for everything, a time for all
Not concerning spring or fall.
This concerns the life of a soul
The days of a person counted in whole.
We live like our season will never end
But change lurks around the bend.
Good, bad, it matters little.
The bite will come, not matter how brittle.
Joy, light, pain, fright
There is no need to put up a fight.
Seasons will come, seasons will go.
Life will continue its magical show.
We can struggle and plead all we want.
In the end, all it will do is haunt.
All that is left is to accept
And cherish memories you have kept.
A season for everything, a time for all.
When change roars in, we stand tall.
